All scouts interested in participating in the Philmont Trek in 2019, please read this!
In the summer of 2019 we will make our next Philmont Trek. Registration for a Summer 2019 trek takes place between October 25th and November 15th, 2017. Please see the linked flyer with some specific information.
Given the number of active Scouts that could attend a 2019 trek, it is possible that we would send more than one Crew. The maximum size of a Crew is 12; 10 Scouts, 2 Adults. Once we have organized our Crew(s) and gotten the dates for the trek, the first fee deposit is due by end-January, 2018.
Please let Scoutmaster Will Ferguson know by email if you are committed, interested, or seriously considering making a 2019 Trek. We will need your initial expression of interest by 30 October 2017.
One of the duties our troop performs is the retirement of U.S. flags.  On June 22, 1942, Congress passed a resolution codifying the Flag Code in U.S. Code Title 36 Chapter 10. The Flag Code provides that when the flag “is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, [it] should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."  Our scouts properly and respectfully retired several U.S. flags at the troop meeting on September 25, 2017.  Â
